9 Tulare City Historical Society - Reverse Drawing Fund-raiser, at the home of Tulare Mayor Craig Vejvoda. The fun event begins at 5:30 p.m. with complimentary wine and hors d'oeuvres. 19 Celebration - The Tulare Holy Ghost Celebration will begin Monday with a rosary at 7:30 p.m.in the chapel at the T.D.E.S. Hall, 515 North I Street. The rest of the schedule includes, rosary at 7:30 p.m. May 20, followed by poems recited by the SOPA Clubs, May 21, with blessing of the bread and performance by the Portuguese band, May 22, with a parade of the animals prior to the rosary at 6 p.m.; and at 5 p.m. May 23, followed by a blood-less bullfight at the International Agri-Center, 4450 South Laspina St., Tulare. A luncheon will be at noon, May 24 at the hall, with folk singrs and dancers performing on the gazebo in the evening, followed by a dance in the hall. A parade will begin at 10 a.m. May 25 from the hall to St. Aloysius Catholic Church, 125 East Pleasant Ave., for Mass at 11:15 a.m., with the parade returning to the hall for lunch of sopas at 1 p.m., followed by activities throughout the day, concluding with the grand march and a dance. 24 Sunrise Rotary to Hold 6th Santa Fe Trail-a-Thon - Continuing a Memorial Day weekend tradition, Tulare Sunrise Rotary once again invites the public to get up, get out, and get moving at their 6th Santa Fe Trail-a-Thon, a 5 kilometer walk/run. Leashed, non-aggressive dogs are welcome to join their owners. Water is available along the trail for the four-legged, as well as two-legged, entrants. Registration opens at 6:30 a.m. Race starts at 7 a.m. Start line: Tiesiera Ford (corner of Cross Ave. and Mooney Blvd.) Finish line: Tulare Youth Center, 948 North H St. Entry fee: $10 for 19 years and younger; $20 adult pre-registration; $25 adult day-of-registration. Dogs walk free. Entry fee includes a T-shirt and breakfast. At the Youth Center the Noon Kiwanis serve up pancakes, coffee, and juice. Rotary provides fresh fruit and water while the participants wait for their "trophies," engraved rail road spikes. "Jilia" is sure to get everyone on the dance floor with her upbeat mix of country western, rock and roll, and Latino music at the 13th annual Ropin' the Stars.
